PRESS RELEASE BY THE PROGRESSIVE AMBASSADORS OF NIGERIA ON THE STATE OF AFFAIRS IN ABIA AHEAD OF THE FORTHCOMING 2023 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION.
18:08:2022; UMUAHIA
In 2015, the Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria (PAN)  was established as a non-governmental Organization with a Pan-Nigeria outlook/objectives. The organization has operational structures across the 36 states of the Federation in addition to over 20 Diaspora chapters.
2. Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the organization has been working closely with the Federal government towards promoting the welfare of Nigerian citizens abroad, strengthening Nigeria's bilateral relations with her neighbouring Countries, improving the dynamics of governance in Nigeria, encouraging compatriots both locally and internationally to actively participate and take ownership of the process of achieving exemplary and accountable  Leadership across the various tiers of government.
3. This implies that the Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria is committed to providing political and democratic advisory services from the electoral process through the governance structure.
4. With an articulated 37 year strategic programme, the Organization has pursued a vision to enthrone a ‘’New Nigeria’’ that is driven by patriotic, purposeful and exemplary leadership, supported by strong institutions and encouraged by patriotic citizenship.
5. As we approach the 2023 general elections and in keeping with our mandate, PAN remains resolute in  changing the dynamics and expectations of Nigerians. PAN believes that the choices of candidates at all levels and across the political firmament/space before Nigerians must be those that would inspire citizens’ confidence.
6. In tandem with our advocacy agenda, we urge citizens to use their Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVC wisely as weapon for political and economic liberation from those many have described as rent-seeking political elites.
 7. Putting this in context and In line with our core values of equity, fairness and justice, PAN believes that ABIA STATE, which is arguably the most horrible State across the South East geopolitical Zone today, presents a roll-call of eminently qualified candidates in their individual rights who are vying for the office of the next Executive Governor of the State, come 2023.
8. However, it stands to reason that, one man that fits into the bill of actualizing a NEW ABIA Project, where justice, fairness and equity would reign is Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, of the Labour Party.
9. The Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria (PAN) believes that, given the many teething challenges confronting the State at the moment ranging from economic, social, political, infrastructural and even spiritual dimensions; one thing that Abians need, devoid of sentiments and more than anything else, is restoration of confidence and public trust in governance, revival and stabilization of the economy, revamping of  industrial development towards massive reduction of unemployment, careful cleaning-up of the system gravely riddled with corruption, reduction of hunger and revival of dying souls daily tortured by backlogs of pending salary arrears, restoration of security -to mention but a few.
10. One man that reflects the core values of patriotism, industry, exemplary and responsible leadership and most focused and prepared for the onerous task is Dr Alex Otti, a firm believer in the New Abia project. He comes with a distinct pedigree as an accomplished banker with track record of excellence, experienced economist, outstanding entrepreneur, profound philanthropist and Politician with no morale or character deficits.
11. Our duty in Progressives Ambassadors of Nigeria is to identify patriots, encourage credible aspirations and draw citizens attention to exemplary qualities in individuals who present themselves for elective offices.
12. In Alex Otti we see great deal of patriotism and the vision of a new Abia, genuine concern towards sacrificing his comfort for greater benefits of his people coupled with unquenchable zeal and courage to go extra mile in service to humanity, despite repeated discouragements and political orchestrations.
13. We therefore lend our voice to endorsing and recommending Dr. Alex  Otti, while calling on Abians to make the most of this opportunity, electoral-wise in order to ensure the guaranteed and collective future of Abia State without regrets.
14. The Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria as partners with Dr. Alex Otti/Labour Party towards the actualization of the NEW ABIA Project, shall soon unveil the strategic programs and action plan for voter mobilization, sensitization and engagements across the State, ahead of the forthcoming polls.
A New Abia Is Possible!
A New NIGERIA Is Possible!!.
-Hon. Amarachukwu Kalu
Abia State Coordinator
