SME Commissioner Encourages Abians to Embrace FG Covid 19 Relief Fund




Abia State commissioner for Ministry of Small, Medium Scale Enterprise and New Business Development, Lady Adaku Uwaoma Oseiza says the State is targeting more than ten thousand Abians that will benefit from Covid 19 relief funds.

The Ministry, with the approval of the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has attracted the attention and consideration of Central Bank of Nigeria to give Abians a targeted Credit Facility for SMEs and Households. This program will help this group of people some survival during this trying times.

Interacting with our correspondent, Lady Adaku encouraged Abians to identify with the ministry of SME at their office, investment house, opposite workers secretariat, Ogurube Layout Umuahia. Her words " let me remind interested persons that there is also a link that has been created on line for those that cannot make it to the ministry". "They can check the ministry's Facebook handle and website for the information". 

She disclosed that the intervention will improve the economy of Abia State and those whose businesses have not been registered should come with their name, phone number, state of origin, email, gender, bank details with BVN and mode of identification (ID card)

The commissioner revealed that the program payback is within 3 years, while interest rate is currently 5% but CBN is likely to revert back to 9%.
