The member Representing Isukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon Nkiru Onyejecha has berated Abia State government for starving the appointed commissioners of funds to take care of themselves, frowned that the ugly situation has turn the commissioners to beggars.
Hon Nkiru disclosed this at Isukwuato, the country home of former Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika, said the state is not functional as expected because it is been held by those who do not want to give way for others to contribute.
Hon Onyejecha emphasized the need for those without voters card to register and get one, explaining that come 2023, votes will count. She accused other members of APC as those working for PDP, adding that APC is planning well for sustainable tomorrow.
She lamented that some people in the state are richer than Abia State and decried that Abia State House of Assembly has no woman as a member.
The deputy Chief Whip also frowned that Abia State House of Assembly has no woman in the house.
The Member Representing Isukwuato State Constituency, Hon Emeka Okoroafor, cried that the road (Ovim Umuakwua Ozara-Acha road) former Governor, Theodore Orji and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu promised to build in Isukwuato because of Gen Ihejirika has not been fulfilled.
He alleged that both past and present state government has not done any single road in Isukwuato, (any single road you see in Isukwuato was done by the federal government, both erosion menace site in Otankoa) He added that APC as a party are in a rescue mission. Okoroafor said the game is changing and alleged also that the six thousand PVCs PDP bought before the 2021 Aba north and South federal constituency bye-election in Aba is now useless in their hands. He further accused Abia State Government and said authoritatively that "the last eighteen point two billion naira bailout fund received from the Federal Government have been shared"
The leader of All Progressive Congress, APC, in Abia, High Chief Ikechi Emenike emphasized that PDP has done 60 percent campaign for them because of their non performance.
Chief Emenike condemned the system of politics in Nigeria where touts are regarded first in the game more than polished persons.
He added that the party is open but not for those in APC in the day time and PDP at night.
" We are trying to bring something new, where people will stop selling their lands, property to train their children. Where people will find it difficult to solve their problems".
High Chief Ikechi Emenike lamented that teachers in Abia State are now regretting their condition due to poor welfare and called for the building blocks of development, just as he regretted a situation where government cannot build roads.
He made a case for a full fledge commercial bank headquarters in Abia for development to speed up and revealed that factories in Abia are dead, stressing that he did not want to be in power, but to reengineer Abia.
On his part, the state chairman of APC, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu urged the party members to sustain their support for APC. He charged them to register more people and get their PVCs to push present PDP in power in the state.
Dr Ononogbu encouraged Abians not to be afraid of some politicians intimidating them, where Abians cannot enjoy free education, as well as better infrastructure.
In his speech, the former Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika advised APC members not to allow their enemies to distract them, emphasizing that two captains cannot be in charge in a ship.
Ihejirika charged APC members to focus on victory, promising that his doors are open to ensure success of the party.
He emphasized that APC will take over power from PDP, stressing that Abia and Aba particularly has dropped drastically in terms infrastructure, where Abians cannot be proud to say publicly that they are Abians.
The former Chief of Army Staff called on all hands to be on deck to restore the infrastructural decay in Abia, adding that other neighbouring states have developed far more than Abia State.
A chieftain of the party, Barrister Friday Nwosu said the meeting is a day of fulfilment for Chief Ihejirika. He called on Abians to come together and form a society of good people.
Nwosu described High Chief Ikechi Emenike as a transparent personality, which makes others who have criminal intensions to associate with him.
